The Sh*t My Gynae Said

As a Women’s Coach, I often feel the pressure to write something really profound on IWD!  So I hope that you’ll find The Sh*t My Gynae Said something that hits the target! I want to use it as an opportunity to hopefully provide some positivity through challenge and responsibility:

- CHALLENGE of the way women are treated in relation to their health

- RESPONSIBILITY in terms of taking ownership of our own bodies by building trust in ourselves, and understanding through education.

What does that even mean?! The Sh*t My Gynae Said has been an idea for a book for about 4 years! But you know, life sometimes gets in the way, so here it is in the version of a 4 part Blog series, released each Friday!  I have taken some of the astounding gaslighting and statements that the women I work with have been on the receiving end of (with their consent), and with some attempted humour (laugh or cry, right?!); write some helpful forward thinking guidance around the issues that made them seek help in the first place.

So keep your eyes open- starting tomorrow with a shocker: Chainsaw Massacre…

P.S This is not a sweeping judgement of all healthcare professionals- we know there are brilliant people out there….but there's some seriously shocking practice that needs to change.
